Southern Tunisia Adventure

Tunisia is a place where oases, dunes and Berber culture create a world full of contrasts and extraordinary views. With us, you’ll explore it by jeep – crossing desert tracks, climbing golden dunes and reaching places regular tours simply don’t get to.

You’ll stay overnight in atmospheric desert camps, bathe in the hot spring at Ksar Ghilane, visit Berber Matmata and feel the magic of Saharan sunsets. There are also camels, quad bikes and that incredible moment waiting for you – when the desert feels like it’s yours alone.

Tunisia can amaze you with its calm, its sense of adventure and its feeling of freedom.
And we’ll make sure you experience it the way the best stories are lived – together, with a team that truly loves this place.

It’s going to be beautiful. It’s going to be intense.

And there’ll be adventure – we promise.

WHY TRAVEL WITH US?

You’ll experience the real Sahara - not from a coach window, but from a 4x4 jeep.
Climbing dunes, off-road tracks, routes off the map and a sense of freedom you feel with your whole body.
This is the Sahara from the inside.

A night in desert camps under a billion stars. Stylish, oriental interiors, warm light and a silence you won’t find anywhere else.
A night you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

Every day brings a new place, a new vibe, a new emotion.

Oases, dunes, the Atlas Mountains, Berber traditions, a desert bar, sunrises and sunsets – this is a journey that really happens to you, not just one you “go on”.

Experiences that leave you with memories – not souvenirs.

Quad biking at sunset, camel rides, a hot spring in an oasis, a campfire in the middle of the desert. These are the moments you’ll be showing your friends later.

A crew that travels together – not a random group of tourists.

We create an atmosphere where everyone feels like part of the trip.
Travelling solo, as a couple or with friends – you’ll find your own rhythm here and people you really click with.

Care, safety and full organisation from A to Z.

You focus on the experience and relaxing.
We handle the logistics, routes, accommodation, transport and day-to-day support.

A programme created by people who know Tunisia from the inside. We don’t go to “tourist spots”.
We go where real Tunisia begins – the real Sahara and real emotions.

This is not a typical tour - It’s an adventure, a shift in perspective and the experience of a lifetime.
You never come back from this trip the same as when you left – and that’s the most beautiful part of it.

Invest in experiences that last a lifetime.

🌶️ Try it:

Harissa, dates from the oases & Berber cuisine

Tunisia is famous for its spicy, aromatic harissa – we’ll try it in the most authentic local versions, straight from the Tunisians who make it. Add to that fresh dates from the oases, couscous, grilled meats and mint tea served the way the nomads do. It’s a flavour you only find here – spicy, aromatic and born of the desert.

We explore Southern Tunisia: Djerba, oases and the roads that lead deep into the Sahara.

Watch a short video from our experience

Djerba – an island of turquoise waters, colours and artists from all over the world.

In the village of Er Riadh on Djerba, a street art project called Djerbahood was created, bringing together around 150 artists from over 30 countries. More than 250 murals (artworks painted on walls) were made there, woven into traditional Tunisian houses and alleyways, turning the whole place into an open-air museum.

Djerba is known for its turquoise waters and beaches, which makes it a perfect spot to relax during the trip. In this part of Tunisia you often see intense flowers, bold colours and artistic details in the architecture – especially in Er Riadh, where tradition meets modern street art.

Atlas Mountains – scenic passes and views that signal the desert ahead.

The Atlas Mountains are your first taste of Southern Tunisia in its most spectacular form. We’ll head up there by jeep, taking winding scenic roads that cut through rocky passes and places you won’t find on tourist maps.

At the viewpoint we’ll stop to take in a panorama that feels like a movie scene – raw mountains, warm colours and a horizon line that slowly gives way to the desert. It’s the perfect moment for photos and for that feeling that the real adventure is just beginning.

From there, the route leads straight towards the oases and desert experiences waiting ahead.

Oasis Dar Sana – a green paradise on the edge of the desert.

Oasis Darsana is one of the most charming spots in southern Tunisia – full of palm trees, light and a natural sense of calm. This is where we’ll stop for a delicious local lunch, served in a setting that perfectly blends nature with Tunisian hospitality.

Hidden among the greenery there’s also a pool where you can cool off after the drive through the Atlas and recharge before the next part of your desert adventure. Darsana delights with its natural beauty and atmosphere that makes everyone want to stay just a little bit longer.

Ksars – Berber fortresses in the middle of the desert.

Travelling through southern Tunisia, you’ll come across ksars – extraordinary multi-level fortresses built by the Berbers. These distinctive “desert strongholds” were made from clay, sand and stone, and served as grain storage and shelter for entire communities.

The best-known ksars look like labyrinths of small rooms stacked one on top of another – as if the desert had created its own clay anthill. Many of them are hundreds of years old and still standing, despite the Saharan winds, thanks to traditional building techniques that have survived through the ages.

Ksar Ghilane – an oasis with a hot spring on the edge of the Sahara.

Ksar Ghilane is one of Tunisia’s most famous oases – a place where lush green palm trees meet the first dunes of the Sahara. At the heart of the oasis there’s a natural hot spring where you can sink in and feel the real magic of desert life.

It’s the perfect spot to try quad biking over golden dunes or head out on a camel ride towards the desert horizon. Just a few steps away from the oasis you find yourself in the middle of endless sand – a contrast that leaves a mark on every traveller.

Sahara – exploring the desert and staying in magical camps.

During this trip you’ll get to know the Sahara from every angle – from soft golden dunes to quiet, endless spaces that look like a living painting. Each day we’ll stay in a different desert camp, and every one of them has its own unique vibe. From the outside they look like traditional Berber tents, but inside they surprise you with beautiful, cosy rooms in an oriental style – with carpets, patterns and lighting that create a true desert atmosphere.

Along the way we’ll drive jeeps up the dunes, slide down sandy ridges, chase sunsets and discover just how varied the Sahara can be. Every camp means a different view, a different slice of the desert and a different way to feel its incredible energy.

Matmata – a Berber village carved into the earth and a real Star Wars setting.

Matmata is one of the most extraordinary places in all of Tunisia – a Berber village where the houses aren’t built on the ground, but in the ground. Traditional troglodyte homes form underground courtyards that stay cool even in the hottest weather, and seeing them feels like stepping into another era.

This is where iconic scenes from Star Wars were filmed, and the Berber houses were used as Luke Skywalker’s home on the planet Tatooine. Walking through the passages carved into the earth, you really do feel like you’re on a movie set.

Matmata fascinates with its simplicity, history and the way nature has been used here to create these unique underground spaces. It’s a must-see stop for anyone who wants to experience a side of Tunisia that never makes it onto postcards.
